Because of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the world is doing many things differently. People are making sacrifices for the sake of an easier life during these challenging times and, of course, for the immediate common goal we all share of flattening the COVID-19 curve. However, right from the very outset, the new ways we found of adapting to life under COVID-19 started to encroach on our privacy.
In the early weeks of this pandemic in the U.S., millions of people transformed their homes into their new office or classroom for their children. What followed was an increased usage of new tools such as Zoom for videoconferencing, which was followed by numerous privacy concerns like Zoom-bombings that the company had to promptly solve.
