System1 is looking for a Senior Acquisition Marketing Leader to be the Director of Acquisition Marketing to help us drive user adoption and usage of our new private search engine. This role will be instrumental in the development of System1’s media buying efforts, marketing team management and personnel growth. To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of current digital marketing tools and strategies and be able to lead digital campaigns from concept through execution. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, data-driven, accustomed to a fast-paced environment, and has a strong understanding of digital ad networks.


This role will report directly to the Vice President, Marketing and assist in building a strong, goal-oriented agile team.  

The Role You Will Have

  • Oversee and develop user acquisition efforts to maximize LTV
  • Set and be held accountable for KPIs related to customer acquisition and revenue
  • Manage a team of acquisition marketers
  • Expand channels through ongoing optimization, A/B testing and build out new channels to drive future growth
  • Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams and have a voice in user acquisition, creative, data, strategy, tools development, processes and product direction for the private search offering
  • Help drive strategy around attribution, tracking, and landing experiences for all paid marketing
  • Work closely with the creative and content marketing teams to shape user journeys from awareness to conversion
  • Define customer cohort strategies and develop targeted campaigns for critical audience segments
  • Plan, forecast, and measure marketing’s impact on the business

What You Will Bring

  • 8+ years in digital marketing space with a proven track record of successful media campaigns with the goal of user acquisition
  • High proficiency in search, native, social, video, activation/install campaigns and display advertising
  • Metrics-driven, understanding the relationship between customer acquisition, CPA, and LTV - and the ability to unpack the drivers of each and work cross-functionally to drive value
  • Demonstrated knowledge and success in the development, execution, and measurement of digital advertising strategies, campaigns and assets
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, motivate and lead
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects, teams and priorities
  • Previous involvement in building teams and digital presences from scratch - experience in an agency, startup or entrepreneurial environment is a plus
