Product, Engineering & Data Science

We pride ourselves in our product, engineering and data science capabilities. Our product, data science and engineering experts make up more than half of the company. They come from organizations that lead the world in technology, such as Google, Amazon, and MIT. We are committed to making valuable contributions to the open source community and to giving back to our technical communities by talking at events and publishing our research.

At System1 we get to solve fun and challenging engineering problems every day. We architect, build and scale novel distributed systems and algorithms to help the business meet the demanding goals of users all over the world. All of our systems are built on top of the Open Source ecosystem which we frequently get to contribute back to.

—Chris Testa, VP, Engineering

The problems we solve at System1 are technically challenging and the engineering culture supports trying out innovative solutions to those problems. That has challenged me to push my skills and knowledge further every day,, for example by trying out a new linear optimization method or figuring out how to test  a complex system in a safe environment.

—Bijan Pourhamzeh, Machine Learning Engineering Manager

Being part of a team that not only makes me feel empowered to take on new challenges but also provides the resources that I need to succeed is what keeps me excited about getting out of bed in the morning. I recently picked up tasks that required extensive knowledge of cloud infrastructure, which is one of the areas I want to grow into professionally.

—Siera Don, Senior Software Engineer

As a Data Scientist, I work with business stakeholders to understand their needs and construct models to help achieve more profitable campaigns and scale up their efforts. I take on new business requests to automate and optimize advertising campaigns. I have been implementing the logic for these models in a directed acyclic graph which allows both the Data Science team and campaign managers to visualize the models we have in place. System1's Data Science team has the freedom to develop new technologies using cutting edge frameworks while at the same time growing our skills and careers.
